LCOY means Local Conference of Youth. It is the local version of the Global Annual Conference of Youth (COY), a gathering of youth around the world which gives voice to the youth and have their representation in the UN climate negotiations at Conference of Parties (COP).

COY is organized by YOUNGO, the official youth and children NGOs constituency of the UNFCCC. YOUNGO is run by volunteer youth from more than 200 youth-led and youth-focused non-government organizations. It is also known as the International Youth Climate Movement (IYCM).

YOUNGO began hosting LCOY in 2014 to enable youth to participate in YOUNGO’s activities without the need to travel to the Global COY. The formation of LCOY UAE has led to the creation of a global network of youth of YOUNGO members and LCOY participants
